A rare opportunity to own a true 1920s Indian motorcycling icon.
DESCRIPTION
- Part of the late John Macaulay Collection
- Built in the Indian Factory from 1916 to 1924 and called a 'Powerplus' as it was more powerful than its predecessor
- Utilising a unique cradle-sprung frame that used leaf springs and a rear swing-arm
- The name was changed in 1922 to 'Standard' as it reflected the fact that it was not as powerful as the new 'Chief'
- This example is presented in 90% restored condition as it's owner, John Macaulay, passed before the bike was finished
- The engine and most of the bike were completed, photographed in its current condition and includes the parts shown
- UK-registered on a current V5C
- Engine turns over with compression but will require recommissioning or restoring before use
