DESCRIPTION

A remarkable 1939 Fiat Topolino with right-hand drive and only 1,593 miles indicated. This quirky little Fiat was born on the 14th of September 1939 and was ordered new by the second Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, and subsequently registered at the Westminster family seat Eaton Hall in Cheshire. It was transferred to his Dublin estate during World War II, and then shipped back to Eaton Hall after the war. Upon the Duke's death in 1953, the car was transferred to the Dowager Duchess and remained part of the family until 1986 when the current vendor came across it. These facts are confirmed within the original 'Buff Logbook' which is supplied with the car. Under our vendor's care, the little Fiat was duly stripped and had a restoration that included a rebuild of the engine. The car is said to drive well, and with its rare Ducal provenance, will make a great addition to anyone's collection and would be welcome anywhere.
