DESCRIPTION
Had World War 2 not intervened, Lanchester would have launched the LD10 in 1940. In the event, it was postponed until 1946. Vaguely American from the front thanks to its prominent cascading front grille, the 10 was quite clever underneath where cogned chronometer 5 position standard automatic mechanical with day/date function. The Bracelet is a rivoted Omega signed example in good condition with little wear. A classic Constellation having many nice original features.il-sprung independent front suspension meant a compliant ride and well-behaved handling. The overhead valve 1287cc engine was lively and the pre-selector gearbox meant extra versatility. The all-steel bodies were manufactured by Briggs up to 1951 when the latter was acquired by Ford, whereupon Barker undertook the provision of coachbuilt bodies panelled in aluminium. Production ceased in 1951, by which time a little over 3,000 LD10s had been built. This charming LD10 was first registered to a Mr Andre Van Der Beek of London on 1st November 1947. It was purchased by the current owner in 1983 and has had only 1 previous owner from new. Supplied with a Wilson pre-selector gearbox and delightful semaphore indicators that are in working order, this LD10 had an engine rebuild approximately 10 years ago and is in fine running order. It was re-trimmed in blue leather and is finished with two-tone green bodywork. Although the paint is starting to show its age, the car is certainly useable in its current guise and has been part of the current owner's collection for thirty years. Offered without reserve.
