1948 Ferguson Tractor

The TE range of Ferguson tractors was introduced in England in 1946, the TE standing for "Tractors England', they came with the Ferguson patented 3 point linkage and automatic control system. Over 517,000 were built in Coventry by series end in 1956, with two thirds of production heading abroad for export.

Presented here is one of the much sort after classic Ferguson TE Model A tractors in the iconic grey colour. First registered in 1947 this is just a two owner from new tractor! It worked for a living on a small farm in Norfolk between 1947 and 1959 at which point it was retired and forgotten about for the next 45 years. It was then fully restored 7 years ago by the son of the original owner and has remained in the same family throughout its life until 2009, when the current owner purchased it.

We are told that the tractor runs well and all the mechanics and hydraulics work as they should. Though started recently, the tractor has not been used for some time and does need a new battery.

Offered with its original logbook this is a truly wonderful example of British machinery which paved the way for many British motorcars in the future lending its engine to several timeless 50's sports cars such as the Morgan +4 and Triumph TR2!
