SUMMARY
On offer from long term ownership, this classic Singer is presented in a unique colour combination after an earlier restoration.
DESCRIPTION
- The Singer Roadster was launched in 1939 as an open version of the Bantam saloon and upgraded to the 4A model in 1949 with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The short-lived 4AB and 4AC models arrived in 1950 followed finally by the 4AD or SM roadster in 1951
- First registered in 1953, this 4AD has been in current ownership since 2005
- Powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder producing around 48bhp and driving the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox
- During an earlier restoration, its colour was changed to Triumph's Honeysuckle Yellow, with its interior changed to red leatherette with red matching dash and door cards
- Recommissioned between 2014 - 2015 including an engine rebuild, radiator, fuel pump and a new black hood. Very little mileage since
- Supplied with paperwork during current ownership, along with spare parts and previous MOTs
- A wonderful addition to any assembly of British classics and a charming companion for weekend jaunts, fair-weather cruising and classic car show visits alike
Awaiting new photos

Remarks
"Headlining": this is a convertible car, so as such has no interior lining. However, although the Convertible roof was replaced in the last 4 years, I accept that the push clips which I subsequently inserted could have been done better, so, if asked, I would score the convertible roof as a "3" as well

Remarks
The engine runs just fine; however, there is currently a slightly loud exhaust note, which I have been unable to resolve. This may be linked to a need to fine-tune again the carburettor (replaced as part of the engine total re-build some ten years ago), which I do not have the skill to do myself. Otherwise, the engine and the vehicle run well, hence my overall score of "3"
