Remarks
The panels are in great condition and required very little filler before being professionally painted. The drivers wing was plated inside to remove a stretched section of panel. New Bumper Fitted and spare wheel is fitted onto the bonnet with an option of a spare wheel in the back of the vehicle. I have not taken the easy option of a canvas TILT and restored a hard top with Cat Flap. This can be changed quite easily and all other tops can be fitted if desired.

Running:
Remarks
It arrived mostly complete but was fitted with a 6 cylinder rover engine. This has been replaced with an age related Spreadbore petrol engine that has been rebored with new pistons and rings, the crank was reground with new main and big end bearings. Original cam shaft and followers used. The cylinder head has been skimmed and the valves have been reseated. New distributor, water pump and carburettor have been fitted After extensive restoration work, and many new and reconditioned parts the engine fired up on the first press. The engine runs and drives like it should and I drove it to and from the 2021 Comeback rally in Penrith without any problems.

Wheels & Tyres:
Remarks
The chassis was blasted re plated and over a period of 2 months new outriggers and cross member added before being professionally primed and powder coated. It runs on Series 1, steel wheels with new 6.00 x 16 tyres x 4 with a spare wheel with matching tyre. I have used Limestone for the wheels as it matches the hard top, but can be green if required. All the running gear has been reconditioned and where required new suspension and control bushes were fitted including the steering relay The axles were blasted primed and painted and the front steering hubs were reconditioned with up rated parts and new chrome balls, bearings, gaskets and seals. Both axles sit on new/reconditioned wide type leaf springs with new U bolts & new bushes. The differentials were stripped, checked, adjusted and replaced using new shims, nuts, washers seals and gaskets The brakes were done and include new slave cylinders, brake pipes and a later master cylinder.

Vehicle History
Remarks
The unrestored land Rover was offered for sale on E bay and was not payed for, I had bought another and offered to buy this one too. The vehicle had been off the road for that long, it was only just on the DVLA data Base but after contacting the Series 1 owners Club and various archives I located the correct details allowing me to keep the original registration number and I now have its log book. I have a collection of photos of the work done and a video of the vehicle running. But you are more than welcome to come and see it. If you would like to own a part of English history and turn heads driving a classic go anywhere vehicle. this is definitely worth a look
