1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster

The Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a two door convertible manufactured between May 1955 and February 1963. In terms of styling, engineering and suspension, the 190 closely resembled its big brother the 300SL, however the smaller car did not use the 300SL's purpose built tubular space frame but was built instead on a modified shortened saloon platform.I would imagine, that if you were interested in maybe owning a 190SL one day, then you will probably know all that.If you are REALLY interested in buying a 190SL then your search is over. You may have looked at, and considered a number of other 190s, but forget those. This is it. This is non-negotiably THE 190SL.

This car is totally mint and freshly out of a nut and bolt restoration. We are always advised not to use the expression "as new" but, I would suggest, that if you walked into a Mercedes- Benz dealer in Germany in 1959 this is what you would see.This car had spent many glamorous years under the California Sun and therefore was solid and rust free when it underwent a meticulous nut and bolt restoration. All the work was fully documented with a large photographic file showing before, during and after pictures. There are dozens of pictures. You don't take dozens of pictures unless you are really proud of your work.(This file will be available to interested parties at the time of the sale).

The car is finished in gleaming metallic Silver that is absolutely flawless. The new interior is in a deep Salmon colour with matching carpets and all in the appropriate M-B materials.

Under the bonnet the attention to detail is exemplary with brand new parts seemingly wherever you look and everything is to a showroom standard. Perfection of this order is not easily achieved.

In preperation for the sale the car has had a full inspection and spanner check by respected Mecedes-Benz specialists Silchester Garage and comes with its original hard top.
