1959 MGA Twin Cam Roadster

The high performance Twin Cam model of the famous MGA was added to the range in 1958. It was a 1588cc double overhead camshaft, aluminium cylinder head version of the 'B' series engine producing 108bhp. The model also gained disc brakes all round and Dunlop peg drive 'Knock off' steel wheels which were unique to the Twin-Cam. The only other visual identifier was the words 'Twin Cam' near the vent aside the bonnet. The model was universally popular with 2,111 made worldwide, most in left hand drive for export.

This particular car is a 1959 left hand drive from new car that was exported to the USA where it stayed until 10 years ago when it was imported in to Denmark. (duties are paid and we can help with UK registration)

It was the recepient of a full ground up and body off restoration to a very high standard in 2003 on arrival in Denmark. Purchased by our vendor and imported to the UK in 2012, it was sent straight to respected specialists, Sigma Engineering in the West Country, for some mechanical work and a thorough inspection, including the engine. Found to have been well restored and with a recent engine rebuild now confirmed, it is offered in outstanding condition and ready to use, following light Summer time only use during the last decade. The history file confirms regular maintenance and servicing with many bills and receipts present, plus a complete photographic record of the restoration on file. Assistance will be given to establish a UK registration and all duties have been paid.
