DESCRIPTION
- Conceived in 1956 and launched in 1958, the Graber-styled TD21 was an immediate success, the combination of a luxury interior, elegant bodywork and 100mph potential appearing very attractive to the rather selective clientele at which it was aimed
- The extensive history file which accompanies 6568 D shows that it was initially dispatched new to Brooklands of Bond Street on the 10th October, 1960
- It's a matching numbers example with factory-fitted chrome wire wheels and a Borg Warner, 3-speed automatic transmission
- Classically finished in Alice Blue, its fresh looks are enhanced by the original Ivory, special option Reutter reclining seats with contrasting Teal Blue carpets and a Navy Blue mohair hood
- Within the file are invoices totalling over £4,000 from marque specialists, Red Triangle, for work carried out since 2014
- Recent upgrades include Coopercraft four-pot calipers, new brake lines, a rebuild of both carburettors and a stainless steel exhaust
- Attention to the bodywork included a paint refresh with the chrome work re-plated where necessary including, as new, refinished front and rear bumpers. The Burr Walnut dashboard and door cappings have been beautifully restored and re-veneered by ‘Chapman & Cliff’, wood trim restoration specialists
- We understand that 6568 D is lovely to drive with light steering on the move, good brakes and a decent turn of speed. Ownership of an Alvis is something special, and this splendid TD21 will offer its new owner a very individual experience
