1960 Oldsmobile Super 88

A very special 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88. A roaring, burbling, chrome worshiping, low-slung, choc-ice coloured, V8-laden beastie. The 'Eighty-Eight' was produced by Oldsmobile from 1949-1999 and this particular model is a Fourth Generation 'Super 88' with the 394ci Rocket V8 which was rated at 315bhp at the time. The 1960, four-door sedan models were advertised as having the""Linear Look"", and the thin window pillars resulted in a light and airy cabin. This left-hand drive Super 88 car was the subject of a total rebuild during the early 1990s, but you would be forgiven for thinking that it was much more recently, such is the quality of workmanship on display. The Olds has attended many shows over the years and has won a number of trophies, with' Best in Show' on more than one occasion. During the restoration, all the exterior panels were removed and taken back to bare metal, etch-primed and finished with two coats of '2-Pack' with a clear overbase. The boot, window and door seals were replaced with new and finally the underside was Waxoyled. In terms of the interior, the original seat covers were sourced from the States along with new carpet sets and a headlining.
