SUMMARY
A rare survivor of Borgward's attempt to compete with Mercedes in the six-cylinder market during the late-fifties.
DESCRIPTION
- A rare car with only twenty believed to have survived. This lovely example has been with our vendor since 2004
- Powered by a 2,249cc, straight six producing around 100bhp and offering a genuine 100mph
- The car's first owner lived in Guernsey and it was subject to an older restoration by Bremen Motors in the nineties
- Like Mercedes, the P100 was fitted with air suspension offering a very smooth and special ride and the four suspension air bags have recently been replaced at a cost of €3000
- The bodywork presents smartly in Cream and is in good condition but would benefit from new rubbers for the doors/windows and the scuttle at the windscreen needs attention
- Delightful interior in Orange Velour with Tangerine Vinyl and mushroom carpets bound in orange. Tidy engine bay
- If you are in the market for a comfortable early sixties German saloon and don't want a Mercedes 220SE, then this characterful, right-hand drive P100 may well be the answer
