DESCRIPTION
The MGB offered here was meticulously restored over many years to fast road/ tarmac rally specification. Despite being prepared for rallying, the owner only ever used the car as a road car for fear of damaging his immaculately restored beauty. Due to this, the car was then sold to the next owner who commissioned renowned specialists "Mogsport Racing' to fully race prepare the car to FIA Specification.
However, shortly after its completion as an FIA race car, the owner sold the car to fund another project altogether, having only completed a couple of track day test sessions. The current owner purchased the car in 2009 from Nick Whale Sportscars, still in it's fantastic restored condition, with the intention of putting it to good use at last. Sadly, he only used it for one track day session and occasional road use, owing to a lack of time to learn to compete.
Presented with current FIA papers, it features an 1840cc B-series engine with a fast road camshaft and Weber 45DCOE carburettor. This is connected to a 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The back axle is a "Banjo" type fitted with a plate-type limited slip differential. Safety in the car is provided by Sparco Race seats and harnesses, along with a full 6-point roll cage, works style hard top and a plumbed in fire extinguisher to provide extra safety.
This car is the perfect entry in to FIA historic racing at an affordable price and is eligible for many series, for example: The HRDC's MGB 50 and GTS 65 series, Equipe GTS, Masters Events, Ecurie GTS along with well know events such as the Spa 6 Hours and Le Mans Classic.
Guided very sensibly today, this could be the cheapest F.I.A. papered car on the market with lots of potential to unleash....
