WITHDRAWN - 1964 Morris Mini Cooper ‘S’ 1071

Manufactured in 1964, the very first year of Cooper S production, this original 1071 Cooper S is the most desirable of all variants. Finished in its original Tartan Red with contrasting Black roof and complete with all factory listed options as per its heritage cert, including close ratio gearbox, Cooper S ventilated wheels, Twin Tanks and genuine "Works" Factory sump guard.The interior is trimmed in its original specification Red/Gold Brockade, re-trimmed using Newton Commercial products by a professional auto trimmer. Subject to a full/bare metal restoration in 2005/2006, documented with photographs and invoices to support the works undertaken. Since its restoration the car is showing minimal signs of age. The sub-frames are solid, as too are the A-posts, floor pan, arches, headlamp areas, battery tray, boot floor and inner wings.

The car has recently returned from leading Mini Cooper specialist, Bill Richards Racing, where it had been treated to a top end engine rebuild and configured to run premium-octane unleaded fuel. Rebuilt without enhancement or modifications other than standard, the engine starts first time, is responsive, strong, and demonstrates good oil pressure. The gearbox is in fine condition, selection is effortless, without crunches or whines.The brakes are completely standard and have recently undergone professional refurbishment. The car is tax exempt and has just sailed through its MoT test, whilst at the test centre the exceptional condition of the waxyoled underside was noted by examiner. It comes complete with genuine Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust.
