1964 Triumph Speed Twin

By the 1960's, times were good for Triumph. market share was healthy, sales were growing, and a dedicated fan-base were expectant of what more was to come from their trusted manufacturer. Their image of course wasn't hindered by Steve McQueen's 'Great Escap'e on a thinly disguised Triumph, and Bob Dylan's brand tee-shirt adorning the album cover of Highway 61 Revisited....The future, as it turned out, was hairy-chested Twins, and the 500cc, like the one for sale here, was arguably the better choice over the 650cc. Finished in the preferred Black with Silver paint scheme, and offered in largely original condition, this is a handsome motorbike with an outstanding pedigree. After a period of little or no use, it is arguably due some light recommissioning before being ridden, however regular maintenance work has clearly been upheld making this a fine example. Offered with old style V5 registration document, and sold Without Reserve, this could be the bargain of the sale!
