1964 FIA Ford Falcon race car

There are a number of high profile series, both in the UK and Europe, for pre-1965 Historic Touring cars. This car is both eligible and highly competitive for all of them and has been built on a no-expense spared basis by well known American V8 competitor, Wes Harding.

It took him nearly 2 years to build and a lot of sweat, blood and tears went in to making it as light and strong as possible. Utilising many years of experience the body was first acid dipped and seam welded, prior to an FIA approved Andy Robinson full T45 cage being fitted. The running gear consists of all the very best components with Ohlin dampers, a magnesium cased T10 gearbox, Truetrack limited slip differential, heat treated front discs, 11" larger rear brakes with carbon Kevlar linings, a £7,500 stainless steel custom made exhaust system with ceramic coated headers, a twin pump fuel system with bespoke 125 litre aluminium fuel tank (for 2 hour running) and even a £3,500 DC Electronics lightweight wiring loom!

The engine is brand new (costing £25,000 plus VAT) and built to the latest spec from renowned V8 engine man, Peter Knight, which gave 440 bhp on the dyno in December 2012, and has not been run in anger since.

The car only took part in 4 races in 2012 (utilising an older spec 289 engine) with no dramas, but still achieved a podium finish 3 times, with very competitive lap times at all venues. It is offered for sale today as a last minute change of plan, for genuine reasons, at a fraction of its cost to build. FIA papers have been applied for and paid for and the car has been both inspected and approved. This car is a potential winner in the right hands.
