1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III was regarded by many as the finest in the company's history and, indeed, was proudly advertised as "the best car in the world". Even with the introduction of its successor, the Shadow, production of the 'chassis Cloud III' ran alongside at the factory into 1966. Rolls-Royce knew it would be a hard act to follow with their new monocoque design. It was powered by an all-alloy 6300cc V8, an engine that was remarkably smooth and efficient; it remained Rolls-Royce's power-plant for many years. With such a majestic presence it would become the first choice for celebrities and aristocrats.

GYU 639C was first registered on the 1st January 1965 and since then has had just 6 former keepers. It presents extremely well with its Black over Silver exterior and Navy Leather interior.

Having lain dormant for three years until 2014, it now benefits from re-commissioning this year and is supplied with a fresh MOT to January 2016. The accompanying history file including owners manual, V5C, past MOTs and an assortment of bills and service receipts, indicate that it has only covered 15,000 miles in the last 15 years. The odometer now shows a believed genuine 73,000 miles.
