1965 Triumph TR4A

Built between 1965 and 1968, the TR4A was an evolution of the TR4. It was hugely updated, compared to the TR4, with a new chassis featuring independent rear suspension. It was hoped the new, but more complex independent rear suspension would address the buying public's desire for a more comfortable riding sports cars without sacrificing the Triumph TR4s superb handling. The new suspension proved itself with the buying public and in racing, with three TR4A IRS models posting a team win and finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class at the Sebring 12-hour race of 1966

This lovely example is an original UK right hand drive, overdrive fitted TR4a supplied by Blue Boar garage in Coventry, to the first owner in September 1965 according to the green RF60 logbook.

Comprehensively restored in the late nineties, and only driven roughly 5000 miles since due to the owner's health problems, the car is still in excellent condition all round.

The Signal Red paint is in great condition and the engine bay is clean and nicely detailed. The hood fits superbly, is in fantastic order and the original seats have more recently been reupholstered in fine quality leather. This along with the fitment of a stainless exhaust system and sporty alloy Minilite type wheels, makes the car present very well indeed.
