SUMMARY
1966 Notchback rebuilt a few years ago to a fast-road/semi-race specification and now fitted with a John Simmons-built 351ci Windsor V8.
DESCRIPTION
- This Dearborn-built Mustang Coupe was originally Silver Blue Poly and was optioned from new with a 200bhp, 2-valve, 289ci V8
- Imported to the UK in 2002/3 and underwent a total restoration including all mechanicals
- Finished in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes and a period Aqua vinyl interior
- Now fitted with a high-performance Ford Windsor 351ci V8 to a semi-race specification built by John Simmons
- Engine specification includes a lightweight crank, Keith Black race pistons, Crane high-lift followers, Trickflow alloy cylinder heads and an Edelbrock intake manifold topped with a Holley 650cfm carburettor
- The above is mated to a fully rebuilt C4 heavy-duty auto transmission attached to a Versailles 3.5:1 rear axle. Suspension was supplied by Magna and retardation is courtesy of a four-wheel disc brake conversion and twin AP racing servos
- Could be converted to a competition car with fair bit of expense but, realistically, it's a fast-road 1966 Pony Car in the right colours and with a fair turn of speed
