DESCRIPTION
Although not officially unveiled to the public until September 1948, the Morris Minor had been on the cards for several years. As far back as 1943, Sir Alec Issigonis was refining the car that would eventually become the Minor. The monocoque design coupled with rack and pinion steering and small 14 inch wheels meant that the Minor handled quite well, and the motoring press of the time loved it.Today the Morris Minor and Minor 1000 are among the best served classic family-sized cars in the old vehicle movement and they continue to gain popularity. The enduring affection for the "Moggie" is reflected in the number of restored and there are Morris Minors currently running in Britain, Australasia and in India.
This Woodie was first registered on 18th January 1968 and has had only 3 former keepers from new. The car has always been garaged. Recent work includes engine overhaul, new timing chain, engines mounts and a full service. In recent years the cylinder head was also converted to run on unleaded petrol.
The interior benefits from a recent carpet set and new door rubbers. The woodwork is described as in very good condition. Supplied with an MoT test certificate until January 2014, the car is ready to be used and enjoyed by its next owner.
