DESCRIPTION

The Morris Minor made its debut at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, on 20 September 1948 and immediately captured the heart of the nation with what were both an affordable price tag and a "friendly' look. From 1952, the estate version came on the market with a timber frame that met with much positive design critique. In the post-war period, a car that was spacious, affordable and economical was sure to sell extremely well, it did and Morris were the first manufacturer to exceed the million unit milestone.

This friendly little Morris Traveller, dating back to 1967, has had only two owners from new. The current vendor bought the car as a "yearling' and has owned it since 1969 and has gone on to average just over 2000 miles a year ever since, with a current odometer reading of 92000.

In 1982, the engine was stripped and rebored and in 1991 there was a full body rebuild of the chassis and lower body shell by marque experts The Morris Minor Centre, Bath. At this time, there was also a suspension upgrade, four new telescopic shock absorbers and anti-tramp bars fitted along with front disc brakes and servo kit costing over £5000.

In 2003 there was a total restoration, refurbishment and bare-metal repaint with new head linings, carpets and side trim with another £4000 spent.

The car has only covered 400 miles in the last eight years.

MOT'd and taxed until August 2012 and with a comprehensive history, this original little Morris is offered 'Unreserved' and will surely go to its next home with a pedigree of over four decades of love and care from the current owners.
