DESCRIPTION

This original right hand drive road car has a current FIA MSA Historical Technical Passport, valid for Racing, Hill Climb and Rally and as in November 2009 with Period H1 1972 to 1973 FIA Class GTS 27.

The car is road taxed with a valid MOT certificate until February 2013 and will be sold with the appropriate registration number MAA 911F

The car was upgraded from the original 1967 911T to 1973 911 2.7 Carrera RS specification in the early 1990's with much of the work undertaken by renowned Porsche Specialist Bob Watson, with the intention of racing in the Porsche Club GB Classic Championship. It was maintained by Acceleration (Elan) Ltd and has mostly finished in the top three in its races within that series, even with an "older' driver!

It has been in current ownership for more than 20 years and recently a sum in excess of £20,000 was spent on full engine overhaul and bringing the car up to full specification in order to acquire FIA paperwork. This included a new roll bar from Custom Cages making it ready to race in the 2012 season.

Due to a change in plans by the owner the car is now offered for sale.

The latest maintenance and refurbishment saw the engine being rebuilt on a 911 Special Order Block no. 911101915 (the RS Carrera crank case supplied direct from Porsche) with new valve springs and piston rings. A new stainless steel exhaust system with a new engine oil cooler, and the correct oil coolers behind each front wing, also the injection pump has been reworked. This work was carried out by Porsche Specialist 'GCR Central'.

The gearbox has a limited slip differential and a Sachs PCS racing clutch assembly. Lifeline fire system, Pagid blue brake pads, Competition Bilstein shocks all round, 28mm torsion bar fitted and racing set up on suspension. Wheels are Fuchs 15" x 7" fronts and 15" x 8" rears. The car is fitted with 2 bucket seats but no trim as per racing spec. The bodywork is in good condition, including under the bonnet and engine bay, the bonnet is fibre glass, but a spare steel long nose bonnet will be also supplied.

The engine developed 219 bhp ( limited to regulation 210bhp for the series plus an allowable +9bhp for the upgraded oil-pump). The car has completed just 550 running in miles on public roads.

The present owner enjoyed some success a few years ago and confirms that this car, resplendent it its attractive new paint scheme of Porsche Riviera Blue, is now ready to go racing again and gain success in the right hands.
