DESCRIPTION
The Mk II Jag' sold well and gained a reputation for bringing people of all classes inside Jaguar dealerships, since the car was popular with 'old money', city bankers and bank robbers alike (especially since it was big enough for 5 adults). This is reflected in the car's starring role in both The Sweeney and Inspector Morse, both programmes reflecting different sides of the Jaguar's personality. The car was also extremely successful on the track, making a huge impact on the European Touring Car Championship. Prices for the Mk II Jaguar are on the rise, once purchased maintenance isn't difficult either, with parts and accessories readily available to buy from a plethora of specialist dealers and owners clubs.
Gleaming in Navy Blue this particular MKII Jaguar 3.4 certainly looks the part, dressed in chrome and sitting on those classic Jaguar steel wheels, ( a set of 4 painted wire wheels will also be included in the sale of this car). It is also fitted with a purposeful Mota-lite steering wheel ... this car just shouts iconic 60's Jaguar. We are informed by the vendor that this particular car has been very well maintained over the years and was subject to an older restoration.
All the key ingredients are there, the bark of the exhaust note, the superbly slick manual gearbox, the delightful Smiths dials, the row of rocker switches, the combination of both leather and wood and that view of the bonnet when you pilot this fabulous car. We are informed that there are no ominous noises from engine, gearbox or back axle and as such this really is a fabulous car to drive. The body is a lesson in automotive art; all panels are straight with even shut lines throughout and are complemented by excellent chrome work. Sold with an MOT until June 2014 this is a very distinguished car, it calls for an experienced driver to take full advantage of its great potential.
