Porsche 911L

1968 Porsche 911L RHD 2.0 litre on Webers.

Under present ownership since 1985, this car was professionally rebuilt between 1986 and 1993 and used until 1997. It was stored correctly until 2003, when exported by its relocated owner to the USA and used mainly for track days and shows with the local Porsche Club of America - Lone Star Region.

It has been well maintained and upgraded. The front suspension and brakes were improved in the mid '80's and the rear suspension was rebushed at the same time. Fuel and ignition systems were upgraded with MSD equipment in 2004 and the oil tank changed for a later model, larger capacity unit and a new oil cooler in 2005. Equal length manifolds and stainless steel exhaust were fitted in 2007. The car is running on E cams.

The car has four 6J Fuchs wheels and 2 7J rears in addition to those featured in the photographs.

Sparco seats and full harnesses were fitted in 2003 and the vendor advises us that the car would make a good historic Rally car. For the purists, the original seats, struts, air cleaner plenum, cams and oil tank will be available to the purchaser after the sale.

Due to non-availability of new SWB front wings in 1992, at the time of the original rebuild, the car was fitted with high quality fibreglass replacements that have no horn grills. They remain in good condition.

A regretted sale by the longstanding owner due to relocation to the middle east, the car is being exported from the USA direct to Silverstone Auctions who are delighted to have been asked to offer the car for sale.
