DESCRIPTION
An iconic 1960's motorcycle that epitomised the typical cafe racer style that was so popular at the time. Supplied by the manufacturer with clip-on handlebars; racing style flyscreen; 5 speed gearbox; dual race style seat and fibreglass racing style fuel tank all as standard items and advertised as "Britain's fastest 250". The Continental GT model was an ideal entry-level production racer as well as being road legal for learner riders at the time.
This particular bike is in excellent condition, having had just 3 registered keepers and a recorded mileage of only 15000 miles (covering only 20 odd miles in the last 23 years!). The previous owner had the bike brought up to collectors standard upon his purchase and then kept it in a dry clean garage, enjoying only the very occasional 'dry' ride.
In November 2011, it was treated to a carburettor strip, clean and rebuild with new float needle, main jet, pilot jet, gaskets, fuel tap, new battery, oil change, new spark and then MoT'd. The bike looks and runs very well and is only offered for sale by it's current owner due to lack of appropriate storage.
Excellent condition, only 3 previous keepers and 15,080 recorded miles. A rare oppportunity to purchase an increasingly sought after machine without needing to work on it! Last owner 22.5 years - covered only 20 miles in 23 years!
The bike will be supplied with a fresh MoT at the sale.
