Few cars can claim to be counter-culture heroes, but when Dustin Hoffman had his epiphany in 1967's generation-defining movie "The Graduate", he not only did so in the vehicle itself, but the ensuing drama established the film and the vehicle as inseparable in our collective conscience. That would be enough to cement the car's status, but it didn't stop there. The name "Duetto" literally means "a song for two voices", and the design of the car had the distinction of being the last to enjoy a personal association from the legendary Battista "Pinin" Farina - his own swansong - whilst the car itself created its own soaring melodies through an astonishing four decades of production - almost unheard of for any car, let alone a sports thoroughbred.

This car, striking in a deep blue paint with the addition in 2010 of black leather upholstery, was presented from Alfa Romeo Italy to Alfa Romeo UK as first owner in May 1969. In the ensuing 45 years she's lost none of that original charm. Our vendor, custodian of this pretty sportscar since 2010, commissioned a full bare metal re-spray some two years ago which has been executed to a very high standard. Further to this, a complete mechanical overhaul was undertaken to ensure that the car now performs as you would expect. We grant you, she's not the most powerful of the bunch, but with all that style and in such pleasing cosmetic order this is certainly a car one would be proud to own, and brings a smile to your face on every journey. The paint has held extremely well to the almost flawless body and the result really is as good as the pictures suggest. Don't miss a trick by letting this car get away.
