DESCRIPTION

Does the E-Type Roadster need a general introduction? Ever since Enzo Ferrari famously described it as 'the most beautiful car in the world' when launched, we think you may well already be getting the drift! Following on from the highly acclaimed series 1, the series II was introduced in 1968 and only available as a 4.2, 6 cylinder Roadster or 2 plus 2 Coupe. Refined in all key areas, including cooling, brakes, steering and handling - it is now widely regarded as the best driving E-Type of them all.

A letter from Jaguar Cars Ltd. in the history file confirms that this car was a UK right hand drive model supplied on 25-6-1969 to London dealer, Henlys, finished in Primrose Yellow with a black hood and black trim.

Our vendor, who has owned the car since 1990, has no early history on the car. However, the history file confirms that it was re-imported back to the UK from Alberta, Canada in August 1990 - still as a right hand drive car but now finished in Red. The car has had very limited use between the purchase date and the present day, all the previous MOT cerificates are present and show annual mileage increases of no more than a few hundred during her entire ownership.

The Imperial Motor Company of Dewsbury, West Yorks carried out a comprehensive rebuild and restoration in 2001 costing some £9,397 at the time and since then the annual mileage increases suggest the car has hardly been used at all other than to and from the MOT station!

Ripe for a restoration, this 58,700 mile car is matching numbers from new and offers an excellent investment opportunity for a collector/enthusiast to drive/enjoy and perhaps return to that original period colour of Primrose Yellow? The car will have a new MOT in time for the sale.
