An S4 with some provenance in Scottish Motorsport circles, this Elan was supplied new by the Lotus factory to Dicksons of Perth. In the hands of a Dundee based owner, the Elan is understood to have had considerable period competition history mostly in hill-climb and sprint events.
Restoration Notes
This 1969 Series 4 underwent a complete restoration (2009) by Classic Autosports to recreate a car that captured the spirit of the 26R racing Elans. Complete rebuild around Spydersport chassis (including roll bar and sidebars). Engine rebuild by Agra Engineering, twin Weber 45s, uprated radiator and additional oil cooler. In addition, a further engine rebuild was carried out in 2014 (@ approx. 2,000 miles) by Halcyon Engineering. Rebored to 1704cc with forged internals (10.5:1 compression ratio). Automobilia can be collected from The Wing over the weekend or Monday morning between 9am
and midday by prior appointment. After this time it can be collected from our offices in
Warwickshire or shipped to you at your expense.
