DESCRIPTION

Although not officially unveiled to the public until September 1948, the Morris Minor had been on the cards already for several years. As far back as 1943, Sir Alec Issigonis was refining the car that would eventually become the Minor. The monocoque design coupled with rack and pinion steering and small 14 inch wheels meant that the Minor handled quite well, and the motoring press of the time loved it.

Today the Morris Minor and 1000 are among the best served classic family-sized cars in the old vehicle movement and they continue to gain popularity. The enduring affection for the "Moggie" is reflected in the number of restored and improved Morris Minors currently running in Britain, Australasia and in India.

Finished in Trafalgar Blue with contrasting light blue seating and carpets, this pretty little Moggie was first registered on the 8th April, 1969 meaning it is of course tax exempt.

Cowley built, this lovely Traveller was subject to older restorative works which included new wood to both sides, a repaint in its original colour of Trafalgar blue and new carpets. The result of these works is still evident now as the car still presents and drives wonderfully. Fantastically reliable, the vendor uses his car regularly confirming that she starts instantly and runs beautifully. He claims that daily use is quite comfortable in this car thanks to period style seatbelts to both front seats and a very efficient and effective heater. Offered with Mot to 10th November 2014, taxed to the end October 2104 (tax exempt) and ready for many more years of happy motoring.
