DESCRIPTION
The Bentley T-Series was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1965 to 1980. It was announced and displayed for the first time at the Paris Motor Show on 5th October, 1965 as a Bentley-badged version of the totally redesigned chassis-less Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.
"CJW 911H" was supplied by Kenning Car Mart on the 21st January 1970 to His Grace the Duke of Devonshire. It was ordered in Black Masons 501 with Beige VM 3234 interior and Cumberland Stone carpets. The order form in the concise history file shows that it was delivered with the plates showing "PRB 120".
During the Dukes ownership of the car there were some notable passengers that accompanied him; Sir John Betjeman, former Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, both HRH Princess Alexandra and Princess Margaret and last and by no means least Her Majesty The Queen.
The car has covered 70,000 miles, which is believed to be genuine and has been well maintained during its life. In 2012 there are receipts totaling £3750, which included overhauling the brakes. Mechanically the car is very good but the bodywork would benefit from some attention in places and a set of carpets would improve the interior.
Offered now due to lack of use by its current owner Leslie Bricusse, the English composer famous for writing the theme song to James Bond's "Goldfinger", Sammy Davis Jnr's "What kind of Fool Am I" and Nina Simone's "Feeling Good".
Supplied with a fresh MoT, current V5C and a documented history file "CJW 911H" is not only a very usable classic but also offers the opportunity to own a piece of Royal history.
