DESCRIPTION

  • Dating from 24/11/71, this, 2-door 'Suffix A' RR has been enjoyed by four previous keepers
  • Powered by a 3.5-litre Rover V8 petrol with a 4-speed overdrive gearbox. Only 35,000 miles from new 
  • It's finished in gleaming Davos White with a smart Palomino interior
  • Recently subject to a 3-year, body-off restoration by Alfred Coker & Sons in Edenbridge completed in October 2021
  • The work included; complete bodywork, original seating restored in Palomino, new carpets, door cards, brake lines, brake master cylinder and pads, clutch master cylinder, new rubbers, new shocks, springs, new exhaust, original wheels blasted then powder-coated, new tyres and much more
  • There are 3 photo albums full of photographs from the start of the restoration to the finish
  • So impressive was the restoration that the car was chosen to feature in the November 2021 issue of Classic, Retro, Modern magazine
  • Supplied with its Heritage Certificate, a copy of the Factory Build Record, the independent engineers printed conformation of work carried out, the Insurance Valuation of £70,000, old MOTs and a file full of bills and receipts

A brand new made to measure carpet set in black and a new sound proofing has been made and fitted to reduce noise and aid comfort. (Rubber mats only were standard fit on early Range Rovers).

Electronic ignition fitted and the car has a push start button fitted and and a brand new DAB radio with a USB port and plug in connector for ipods. I have not had a chance to get the oil pressure and oil temperature gauges connected as the parts I have been sent do not fit the thread on the engine where the adapters fit.

The Range Rover has its original chassis/engine fitted so is a matching numbers car. (Although British Motor Heritage did not have the engine number on the certificate. This was only found by removing the engine as the number is stamped behind the engine


Restoration Notes

New suspension, complete bodywork, original seats, new carpets, new tyres, powder-coated wheels, brake lines, copper lines, brake pads. In the vendor's opinion it is practically a new car. New door cards, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, new headlights, new rubbers, new shocks, springs, new exhaust, original wheels blasted then powder-coated.
