SUMMARY
An exceptionally original example of the very rare Mk3 Cooper S
DESCRIPTION
- First registered in June 1971 and with our vendor for over 30 years
- Finished in brilliant Sandglow Yellow with a black interior
- Fitted with a period-correct Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel
- Totally unmolested and regularly maintained in an eclectic Mini collection
- The majority of the 64,163 indicated miles were covered in the early days
- Only 792 of these cars were built for the home market and consequently are now rare
- Your earliest inspection is encouraged and welcomed
Along with the rest of the Mini range, the Cooper S was launched in Mk2 guise in 1967. Other Minis had dispensed with their marque names but the Cooper S continued to be available in Austin and Morris forms and the 1275 Cooper S actually made it to Mk3 form with concealed door hinges, wind-up windows and Hydrolastic suspension until British Leyland's 3-year agreement with Cooper expired in 1971 and the model disappeared with only 792 UK-market examples of the Mk3 1275S leaving Longbridge.
This exceptionally original example was first registered in June 1971 and consequently was one of the very last. It's been with its current owner for over thirty years, forming part of his eclectic Mini collection and is totally unmolested and regularly maintained regardless of cost. An MOT trace indicates that the majority of the 64,163 indicated miles were covered in the early days of its life with little use but constant care in more recent years.
In summer-fresh Sandglow with a black interior and fitted with a period-correct Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, this freshly serviced and MOT'd Mk3 is ready to go and be fully enjoyed as intended. At some point in our lives we have all owned a Mini but not everyone managed to attain the dizzy heights of Cooper S ownership, maybe now is the time to tick that box.
