DESCRIPTION
In 1970 Porsche increased the capacity of the successful 911 range to 2165cc. The S version was now producing 180bhp and the model was well underway in establishing Porsche as a world leader in the production of sports cars and motorsport. From club racers to World Championships the 911 would become an integral part. The 911S would be the basic underpinnings of the 911 2.7 RS, a platform that would provide successes at the Targa Floria, Daytona, Sebring, and the Nurburgring all by the mid-seventies.
Offered here is a 911S 2.2 Targa delivered new to Porsche dealer Mahag-Sportwagen of Munich, West Germany, finished in Light Yellow and with Beige trim at the time. Accessories included, green tinted glass and 'Porsche' side lettering in Black, now removed.
Importantly this is a matching numbers 911S and today benefits from the fitment of original factory Recaro sports seats. It seems that it was imported into the UK prior to 1979 and converted to right hand drive. The history file contains many service invoices and most recently tuning by Maxted-Page and Prill. The new V5 relating to the current registration should complete the history file at the time of the auction.
This 911S represents an opportunity to own a very usable Targa and enjoy open top motoring with legendary performance. This motoring icon has been guided very realistically. Road tax exempt and sold with a current MoT test certificate.

AMENDMENT. Despite what is printed in our catalogue, the license plate which will adorn this car on purchase is "SJI 1566" and not "WTS 54K" as previously stated. We apologise for the change.
