1972 Fiat 500 F

The Fiat 500 was produced by Fiat S.p.A (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino) between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500 "Giardiniera "estate continuing until 1977. The car was designed by Dante Giacosa and, despite its diminutive size, the '500' proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe capturing the hearts and minds of the public until production ended and still enjoying enormous popularity even now.

Almost, but not quite, the coveted "one lady owner from new", this little Fiat was built in right hand drive form for the New Zealand market and was sold by Olympic motors ltd, Fiat main dealers in 1972 to a Mrs. Holbrook. Her pride of ownership is evidenced by the fact that she carefully retained in her paperwork file the original guarantee of sale, the service book with the first three main dealer service stamps, her first insurance certificate, and Warrant of Fitness Certificates (N.Z. MOT's) showing the mileage of only 16,000 miles to 1995 when Mrs. Holbrook sold the car.

The little 500 was then entrusted to the care of a local Fiat dealer and he kept the car in remarkable original condition in his showroom as a time warp example and a nod to Fiat heritage. Finished in lovely Blu Scuro (Navy Blue) the car presents as you would expect from a lovingly maintained cherished vehicle with an odometer reading of just 16,534 believed genuine miles. We are assured by the vendor that very little has been replaced during its life with all the glass, interior, floor mats, sunroof, and the spare wheel and tyre being original. The steering wheel cover fitted by the supplying dealer in 1972 is still in situ. All that was necessary to secure the most recent MOT was replacement headlamp bulbs.

Upon arrival in the UK this ex-New Zealand car has had import taxes paid and been issued with a UK MOT certificate expiring March 2016. With NOVA submission completed this car is ready for registration in any EU country.

We are told the car drives very well and is as pretty as a picture. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a low mileage example of the iconic Fiat 500....
