DESCRIPTION

An exciting and important 'barn find' 1973 Aston Martin V8 for re-commissioning. Purchased by the current vendor for just this purpose, however a burgeoning collection and business commitments mean that the car has been reluctantly offered for sale. This is the desirable manual version of the carburetted 5.3 litre AMV8 and is a Series II with the louvered rear vents and Aston Martin Lagonda embossed cam covers. Just 288 of these cars were produced, mostly with automatic transmission. The Series III, Weber carburetted cars were launched in August 1973, and the registration of this car in September 1973 overlaps this transition from fuel injection to carbs, suggesting that this is one of the last of the David Brown-era AMV8s. The car is in need of substantial re-commissioning, with particular attention required to the MoT fail list of 2013. The leather interior is in remarkably good order and the odometer reading of nearly 7,000 miles may well indicate that it has 'gone round the clock'
