1975 Triumph Stag

The Triumph Stag is a British car that was sold between 1970 and 1978 by the Triumph motor company, styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. Envisioned as a luxury sportscar the "Stag' was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL Class models.

All Stags were four-seater convertible coupes but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a "B" Pillar roll bar hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-Bar. A removable hardtop was also a popular factory option for the early Stags and was later supplied as a standard fitment.

Offered here today is a 1975 model fitted with automatic transmission and finished in deep Russet Brown paintwork with matching dark brown interior. It was acquired from a private collection and has spent the last 15 years in a dry warm environment benefitting from having covered a believed-genuine mere 29,780 miles from new. It recently had a full pre-MOT inspection only requiring a brake cylinder replacement and battery. The car now drives beautifully and has passed its MOT with flying colours. It comes complete with its original engine and gear box. With its hard and soft tops, the vehicle is both externally and internally in excellent condition ready to be driven immediately.
