Restoration Notes
This has to be the ultimate Jaguar Big Cat. A full on 'optical tuning' project commissioned in 1991 by the publisher of Bodyshop Magazine, this original V12 Coupe (one of just 600 or so RHD examples ever produced was subjected to a total cost-no-object makeover bring the car up to then current MkIII specifications, modified create a unique businessman's express. The work included the installation of a brand new V12 HE spec. engine mated to a Getrag 5 speed manual gearbox, stiffened suspension, and a total reworking of the bodywork (including a cabriolet conversion and TWR front and rear bumper panels) and a spectacular interior incorporating top-of-the range Recaro seats, a built in telephone and even a mini fax machine housed in a bespoke fold-away housing. Originally purchased by the vendor in 1983 the car comes with an extensive history file and, whilst not concours is in good useable condition and (as the owner can attest from extensive personal experience) is the ideal machine for long-distance high speed road trips, with the HE engine providing turbine-like performance with (in relative terms) excellent fuel consumption.
