1978 Morgan Plus 8

The introduction of the Morgan Plus Eight can really be credited with the resurgence of the Morgan Motor Company during its time as a manufacturer. With the fitment of the Rover V8, nee GM-Buick engine and design by Maurice Owen the Plus Eight was for many years the fastest accelerating UK production car. The 'quintessential' English sportscar now acquired a far more purposeful stance with a wider body to handle the performance that shamed many of the 'Supercars' of the day.

Offered for sale for the very first time in 35yrs this one owner from new Morgan + 8 is indeed a very unique car. It has only 38,500 miles on the clock and the totally comprehensive history file contains the owners record of every fuel and oil replenishment. When ordered new by our vendor the extras included, special order Jaguar Opalescent silver paintwork, bonnet strap, leather reclining and folding seats, locking doors and fuel fillers caps. It was undersealed from new. The original hood, sidescreens and tonneau are in good condition but a complete new set of sidescreens, black mohair hood and spare wheel cover are with the vehicle. These were a special order manufactured at the factory trim shop. It also benefits from factory fitted uprated rear suspension improving handling and traction with telescopic rear dampers. Side wind deflectors and headlamp grills are fitted together with a host of other extras.

Very seldom a car with such exact provenance and honesty comes to the market with the opportunity for a new owner to continue the 'stewardship' of such an exciting car.
