1979 Aston Martin V8 Auto

Newport Pagnell based Aston Martin was "re-born" in 1976 following the finacial crisis of late '74, and one of the first jobs of the new owners, Sprague and Minden, was to thoroughly revise the V8. Accordingly the car was unveiled at the Birmingham International Motor Show in October 1978 as the 'Oscar-India' (October Introduction in the phonetic alphabet) complete with a now closed power bulge and a new neat integral spoiler on the bootlid. The car was more refined and more luxurious with walnut door cappings, an automatic gear box, full leather upoholstery and air conditioning all as standard.

This 1979 V8 Oscar-India Automatic is finished in Chichester blue with Magnolia leather upholstery, piped in blue, dark blue carpets and walnut dash and door cappings. Said by the vendor to drive very well, the car benefitted from a £16,000 spend early in 2012 with an Aston Martin specialist.

During its life the car has had later BBS cross-spoke wheels fitted and the comprehensive history file, and original service booklet, show plenty of evidence of regular maintenance and ongoing upkeep throughout it's 95,000 mile journey.

Still one of the most affordable classic Aston Martins, it is sensibly guided today and offers the chance of being involved in the exciting Aston Martin motoring events planned for 2013 with the kudos of owning an Aston in their centenary year.
