1980 BMW R100RS

This one of the Classic 1980 BMW R100RS and it has been owned by the vendor for 22 years. He purchased the bike in 1990 from a Doctor, complete and undamaged, but partly dismantled. He had the frame, wheels and fork sliders powder coated, cylinder heads modified, and then he laid the bike up. The engineering work on the cylinder heads was done by well-respected engine tuner Mez Porting, who gas-flowed the cylinder heads, converted them to use lead free fuel, and machined a second spark plug hole per cylinder. The twin plug system is completed by top quality Dyna ignition coils, this gives improved starting, smoother running and a small power increase. In 2002, the bike was put on the road for a trip to France, used a little that summer, andthen laid up again. After spending the last 10 years in dry storage, this year has seen the restoration of the bike, with a full professional respray, stainless steel exhausts and silencers, stainless steel braided flexible brake pipes, new front and rear brake master cylinder seals and much more. This iconic model is the most desirable of the air cooled BMWs, and are quickly becoming highly valued. This motorcycle is a terrific example and will either run for years, or complement any classic motorbike collection.
