DESCRIPTION

Introduced in 1979, the series 1 Mike Hailwood Rep was introduced to celebrate Mike's 1978 Isle of Mann TT F1 victory. Based on the standard Ducati '900 SS', it was a factory produced limited edition with a one piece fairing and racing exhausts as standard. The bike evolved in between introduction and 1985 when production ceased, although the Castrol colour scheme continued throughout.

There were only 300 of the series 1 bikes produced and few remain, making it by far the most collectable version. They all featured very high quality components including; Nippo Denso instrumentation, Marzocchi suspension, Brembo brakes, Speedline alloy wheels and Silentium exhausts.

This particular UK bike is owned by Silverstone Auctions MD, Nick Whale, and has only had 4 previous keepers. The bike has been very sympathetically restored to an extremely high standard and then used sparingly on high days and holidays, only when the sun was shining. (He is just a fairweather biker! Ed)

It has covered just over 15,000 miles from new and rides superbly. Presented in exceptional condition, with a strong and superb sounding engine, it has proved to be both reliable and quick.

A must for any serious collector, this series 1 comes with a UK V5C, current MOT and known provenance.
