1982 Porsche 911 3.0 RS Recreation Race Car

This car is based originally on a Porsche 911 SC Sport from 1982. Now heavily modified for racing, it has had just 2 owners during the last 20 years who have both campaigned the car successfully, with the current vendor having owned and run it since 1997. He has confirmed that the car has never had an accident and runs very well today, just needing a younger enthusiast to take over his beloved project!

Originally built for Bill Cole of Cousins Furniture, this car has been maintained by renowned marque specialists PCT Porsche of Coventry. The car features a 3.5 litre upgraded 3.2 Carrera engine running on low butterfly fuel injection, modified cylinder heads and camshafts, a race exhaust, dual fuel pumps with swirl pot and gives today 330BHP (dyno sheet available) with excellent compression ratios on all cylinders. It is mated to a 5 speed competition gearbox, with a limited slip diff and strengthened drive shafts.

The shell has a welded in Custom Cages roll cage with front strut and cross bracing, 'Turbo' spec lowered and stiffened suspension with Bilstein race dampers, solid bushes with fully adjustable front and rear roll bars, RSR/Turbo complete braking system with dual pedal box and adjustable brake bias. It runs on slicks, wets or road tyres with 2 sets of Compomotive rims included.

The body has all glass fibre panels and doors, perspex windows, front mounted oil cooler, plumbed in SPA fire system, Recaro race seat with Willans harness, Momo wheel and a Stack ST406 rev counter with data analysis. It comes to the Sale with 12 months MOT which makes it eligible for all sorts of Tours and rallies as well as various racing series such as Porsche Open, Intermarque of Modified Sports Cars. Alternatively it would be a very competitive and exciting hillclimb/sprint car, or an incredible track day car.
