DESCRIPTION
The Porsche 930 Turbo was a genuine 'Supercar' that defined the Seventies and Eighties. It was one of the fastest production cars available at the time. It was first seen at the 1973 Paris Auto Show and full production commenced two years later. The basic engine underpinnings came from the Carrera 2.7RS which was increased to 3.0 Litres and, of course, turbocharged with technology gained from Porsche's 917/30 Can-Am programme.
The bodywork received special treatment to produce one of the most aggressive looking Porsches ever made with its wide arches and impressive rear whale-tail. The brakes came directly from the Porsche 917 race car. The final evolution of the 930 Turbo saw the engine capacity increased to 3299cc, with improved upgrades on the intercooler and fitment of the G50 transmission. By 1989, the final year of production, the power had risen to 330bhp.
Built 13/06/1985 this Porsche 911, 930 Turbo is showing a warranted mere 25,571 miles from new supported by previous MoT records and SORN Records as detailed in the cars history file which tracks the slow but steady increase in the cars mileage.
Wearing its factory correct Black/A1A1 paint colour, the car was originally delivered with Black leather interior. However, we are lead to believe that its current White leather interior was fitted by the car's second owner in the early years of its life.
Purchased in 2013 by a gentleman living in Australia, the car was kept at his UK address and little used. A fastidious gentleman, he made the decision soon after purchase to undertake an engine strip and rebuild along with the fitment of a new clutch to ensure all was as it should be. This was decided as the car has spent some years standing throughout its life and an invoice by WrighTune Ltd for £7771,97 confirms this.
Presented with a good history file, which includes a wealth of MoTs and SORN records, along with some invoices. A book pack for the car includes the service book containing 5 stamps up until 1990 when the car was showing 13,190 miles.
This car poses as an excellent opportunity to acquire a low mileage example of one of the fastest appreciating 911s on the market.
