1986 Ferrari Testarossa

This 1986 Ferrari Testarossa was one of the first right-hand drive examples delivered to the UK. The original bill of sale confirms the car was sold new in Rosso Corsa to a Formula One and Ferrari race team owner by Emblem Sports Cars (Nigel Mansell's Ferrari dealership) in April 1986. Period dealer and factory telexes between the factory and dealership detail the painfully slow process of ordering a brand new Ferrari in 1985. These relate to a particularly slow delivery process, price increases and not a great deal of help from the factory: "Testarossa situation extremely difficult. Will try, repeat try, to schedule car in December."

Interesting original specifications included a factory sports exhaust, Rudge centre locking wheels and stunning high fixing side mirrors that graced these early cars. C454ARU was used sparingly by its first owner during the 1980s and he stored the car in a temperature controlled environment until 2005, when it was recommissioned and returned to the road. Work included new cam belts, brakes, fuel lines, clutch and totalled over £16,000 in bills.

The second owner purchased this car in 2008 until it came to the current owner in 2011. Now showing only 8,300 miles this Testarossa has recently undergone a major service with renowned marque specialists Terry Keys Motorsport in October 2011. This included cam belts and new clutch. A further inspection will be carried out by Terry Keys prior to the auction, along with a full condition report.

The condition of this Ferrari is simply superb and any inspection is welcome to potential buyers. With a documented history and extremely low mileage, chassis number 63685 makes an excellent investment opportunity as Testarossa's of this quality become harder to find.
