1986 Porsche 911 SuperSport Coupe

The 3.2 Carrera is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963, before being replaced by the more complicated 964 series.

These final cars were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche's original design. The all-alloy flat-6 engine, which had been fuel injected since 1971 received a final stretch to 3,164 cc, giving a torquey 231hp, enough to propel the lithe and slippery coupe to over 150mph, with 0-60mph coming up in 5.6 seconds. Cars built from September 1986 onward received the more user-friendly G50 gearbox, but all 3.2 Carrera's feature galvanized bodies which together with Porsche's legendary build quality ensures that these classics are long-lasting.

Purchased new from Charles Follett Ltd on 6/3/1986 this car was supplied with the coveted "M491' factory option which gives the car the "Turbo Look' more commonly known as a SuperSport.

Showing 55,000 miles the car is presented with a detailed history file which includes a wealth of invoices relating to the car. The original Porsche owner's pack is also present showing service stamps up to 44,345 miles. Contained in the history file is every MoT from 1989 until the present day with the exception of the years, 2002, 2008, 2010.

This rare SuperSport model 911 is a little-known but important development in the 911 legacy. Certainly one with the looks and performance that will ensure it becomes a collector's item in the years to come if not already fully established in this status today...
