1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Targa Sport

There are very few cars that can boast a history anything like that of the Porsche 911. This was the gem of a sports car that simply blew everything away back in 1964. Since then the 911 has evolved over the years to become one of the world's true motoring legends. Without doubt part of the appeal of this iconic model is that its soul has always remained true to the original design. Porsche started to manufacture the "Targa' top 911 from the mid-sixties and kept it in production in various forms right up to the current Porsche 997 Targa. Up until 1993 its original design and popularity had always revolved around the fact that you simply turn two clips, lift the top off, fold it up into about 2/3rds of the original size and store it in the boot and you have a "sunny day' 911.

This particular example is fitted with the more desirable G50 gearbox and is finished in Guards red with contrasting black roof, black leather interior, black carpets and dashboard, it was first registered on the 06/11/1987 on an E registration. The condition of this car is nothing short of incredible given that this year it celebrates its 25th birthday. Externally the paintwork has a mirror like finish throughout with absolutely no fading and the shut lines are perfect throughout. The 16'' Fuch alloys, which give the car its classic Porsche look, are, as you would expect, in equally superb condition and the car is shod with excellent rubber all round.

This 911 not only looks the part but it also has a wonderful provenance. It comes with 2 sets of keys, all the relevant handbooks, including the all-important service book showing no fewer than 15 service stamps, 14 previous MOT certificates and there is a large folder of invoices and supporting literature to validate its current mileage.This car really has it all, the pedigree, the history and of course the performance.
