SUMMARY
An excellent example of the second-generation RS Turbo with lots of history.
DESCRIPTION
- Based on the success of the previous model, the Series 2 Escort RS Turbo (1986-1990) was a bit more user friendly
- It featured the 1600cc fuel-injected CVH engine taken from the S1 but now fitted with the Garret T3 turbo (water-cooled, unlike the S1), revised engine management settings, lower overall gearing, an improved gearbox and limited-slip differential, a larger clutch and improved KE Jetronic unit and inter-cooler
- Suspension and chassis changes included stiffer front and rear springs, uprated anti-roll bars, mechanical ABS and larger brakes
- With 132bhp and 133lb.ft, performance was impressive with 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds and 125mph
- This super S2 is finished in Diamond White with an unmarked Grey Recaro interior
- It's on offer from a private collection and appears pleasingly original and unmolested
- Recently had the benefit of a rebuilt head, fully serviced and rolling road tested
- Supplied with a good history file which includes invoices and receipts and some old MOT Certificates and will come to the sale with a fresh MOT for peace of mind
