DESCRIPTION
Argo Racing Cars Ltd. was formed in the 1980's by Swiss designer Jo Marquart and British engineer, Nick Jordan. They specialised in building international Formula 3 cars, Formula Super V and Formula Atlantic single seaters of the day with considerable success. The company later found fame within the C2 class of the World Sports car Championship and in the USA IMSA GT championship, winning many races and several championships around the world.
This particular car was built in the late 1980's and made its debut in April 1990 as a works car for use in the European Formula 3 championship of the day. It was driven by several notable "pay drivers', including Eric Cheli. The car was eventually retired (unhurt!) in the mid 90's and lay unused until recently. It was then restored and rebuilt for use in the BRSCC Club F3 F3 series where it scored a win and a podium in 2010 and has not been used since. Utilising the reliable 2.0 litre Tom's Toyota Novamotor with Kugelfischer injection, dry sump and a Hewland Mk9 gearbox, and it runs in F3 for the period known as 'JR' (1983-1990), it is one of the latest cars available with correct FIA HTP papers to run in this period classification.
Ready to win again within MSV Masters Historic F3, it offers cheap single seater ground effects motorsport at the very realistic guide price offered today.
