1989 Porsche 928S Series 4 Auto

The Porsche 928 was first introduced to the public in 1977 at the Geneva Motor Show. It had come about because of Porsche's need to be represented in the Grand Tourer market. It was a bold futuristic design but incorporated some state of the art Porsche innovation. The weight distribution was virtually matched because of the rear mounted transmission, it had low servicing intervals and specially treated alloy panels. It was voted Car of the Year in its first year of production.

The final evolution came about in 1987 in the form of the 928 S4, the capacity was up to 5.0 litres and the grand tourer now had blistering performance. With 316bhp the 0-60 time was sub six seconds and a top speed close to 170mph. At the time many motoring journos' proclaimed it to have the best brakes of any production car and sublime handling to match.

Originally supplied by Charles Follett of Berkeley Street, London, this 928 S4 shows only 41,000 miles recorded. The complete service record has Porsche Main Dealer stamps up until 2007 when it had 29,151 miles recorded. The three remaining stamps are Porsche Specialists, with a cambelt change in May this year. The registration V5C shows just three former keepers. The car has an MOT Certificate until April 2014.

Finished in Dark Blue with a light grey interior, commensurate to the mileage, this is a very attractive Porsche with a sensible guide for such a capable grand tourer.
