Jaguar's all-new saloon for the late 1980s still carried the XJ insignia but heralded new technologies and increased sales. An entirely new body style and design was created with 25% fewer panels than the previous model and, typically for the period, the design was a touch more angular, however, importantly the car still retained those familiar Jaguar styling cues. In 1990, the 2.9-litre was replaced by the state of the art, 3.2-litre version of the AJ6 unit. The Sovereign model came equipped with significantly more features than the base XJ6. Included were air conditioning, headlamp washers, a six-speaker sound system, rear self-levelling suspension and anti-lock braking system,

Originally supplied new to Japan and clearly very sparingly used to this very day, the condition throughout of this gentleman's carriage is exemplary and I would suggest almost impossible to duplicate. Complete with its full service pack, invoices from Japan and the UK and a, then, recorded mileage of 4,400, the Jaguar returned to the UK in 2017 and has had one recorded custodian since. Treated to a full 'Krown' rust protection package on its repatriation the condition on the underside is as good as the remainder of the vehicle.
