The Cavalier from Vauxhall needs little introduction today following the epic war between Ford and Vauxhall from the late 1970s right up to the 2000s for market supremacy. Ford had the Cortina and later the Sierra. Vauxhall had the Cavalier in its many different guises and the battle of the rep-mobile was both long-lasting and intense!

Both manufacturers held close to 50% of the UK sales market for most of that period and their status as the chosen transport of company representatives meant that the majority of them covered very high mileages very quickly. Consequently, very few low mileage cars survive today and those that do are often in less than sparkling condition.
